fixed my plumbing issue… great work

Len is great. We had our furnace go out and he was the only one adamant he could fix it instead of immediately considering full replacement. And he did fix it. That’s honesty and that’s incredibly valuable. We need more Lens.

Matt came in the middle of the estimated time window and did a great job. His partner took away the old water softener that I no longer used, and Matt made the necessary repairs to the water line. The entire job took just a bit over an hour to complete. My wife and I are completely satisfied with the work done.

Did a great job. Always does a great job. Had to return on a Saturday because the unit wasn’t working. Found out the electrician – who changed a circuit breaker hadn’t set the breaker – due to cold weather – didn’t realize unit was off till first warm day. Returned, evaluated fixed – works great.

The repair team arrived within twenty minutes of my calling the service. Our heat was out on the second floor, so I figured it was either the zone valve or the second-floor thermostat. I was assured the repair team could handle either problem. One man checked the zone valve and said he didn’t think it was the problem. The other fellow checked the second-floor thermostat and quickly figured out that it was the source of the problem. He had a new thermostat on his truck, so he replaced my old one and I had heat again. The whole event — from calling the company to the repair team’s leaving — took less than an hour.

The plumber was here for about 45 minutes, and it all went well. Everything seemed to work fine, but unfortunately neither of the new flappers sealed properly for very long. So, we had to call the company, and they sent the plumber back out within an hour. He checked everything and replaced both flappers with a different type which did the trick and cost us nothing extra. They back up their work as well as their products. Nice.

Guys were on time, worked quickly, and were very professional.

Excellent, Len Thonus’ team arrived promptly and replaced our 24-year-old faucet in no time. They were clean, efficient, and reasonably priced- no surprises! I will definitely use them again!

They are good but they are more on the expensive side. I would recommend them. The staff were fine. They were courteous. They know what they were doing. The area was fine when they left. The work was done within the timeframe that they mentioned. What stood out the most was the quality of the work was done well. I would tell a friend that they are a reputable company. I really don’t think they can go wrong but pricing was fair.

I had a bad leak under my kitchen sink and needed the tail pipe and strainer replaced. I got an estimate from another plumber first who wanted $550 for the same job and accepted cash only. I called Len Thonus Plumbing and they came out the next day to complete this repair job and to give me an estimate on some other work. The plumber was about ten minutes early and had the job completed in approximately 30 minutes. He was very professional, and I was extremely pleased that they charged LESS THAN HALF of what the other plumber intended to charge. They also accept credit cards while most others don’t seem to (or at least don’t advertise that they do). I also asked them to give me an estimate for replacing my central air conditioning and they sent two HVAC guys out while the plumber was repairing the sink so that I wouldn’t have to spend additional time waiting around the house. I was extremely pleased with this company and all three of their guys and wouldn’t even consider using someone else. I will update this review upon receipt of the a/c estimate.

They are a small company and I love using them. You actually get to speak with the owner of the company when you schedule your appointments, and he is very concerned about quality. He only has a select group of people working for him and they work up to his standards. They are in the same town as me so they know all of the building codes. I recommend him because he is a great guy. I also use him for plumbing.

Over the last four years, I have probably used him four or five times. He does quality work and always follows up on his work. He is very punctual. He can also make some very practical suggestions if you are thinking of purchasing something.

He was very thorough. He charged by the hour. He did his job very quickly. I liked him a lot. I also thought his price was really fair. I would definitely use him again in the future.

I was extremely pleased with the work. The young man who came to do the work was very courteous and knowledgeable. They promised to come at a certain time and were very prompt.

Our water heater stopped working on Saturday with a house full of guests. The guests made this an emergency for me. Len came out on a Saturday on a holiday weekend for the emergency call. His responsiveness was above and beyond. Unfortunately the part needed had to be ordered. He got great kudos from both my guests and I for the attempt. I’ve had Len do other projects HVAC and plumbing before but they were always “please finish by April”.

We purchased a fixer upper and called Thonus to fix a number of plumbing related issues. They showed up when they said they would, cleaned up and recommended ways to save money. They are on our speed dial for plumbing services and we would recommend them to anyone.

Found our heater would not blow on the coldest night of the year (brrr…thank goodness for electric heaters and a fireplace). Called these guys and left a message. They called first thing in the morning and said they would be by that day…And a few hours later they had arrived and fixed the issue in 1/2 hr. Very fair price.

The drain was un-clogged promptly and efficiently. The water leak was found to be not the result of a plumbing issue but rather a defective (leaking) shower pan, so no work was completed on that score. However, Mr. Thonus was kind enough to recommend an excellent tile installer, and I have since hired him as well! I have also recommended Thonus to a landscaper friend, who hired him to install an irrigation system.

Great. His responsiveness went a long way in soothing some of my more persnickety guests. There have been a number of problems with the old place (most recently a failed septic system, and “no hot water” issues in two different buildings). Len has never failed to go the extra yard in order to resolve whatever plumbing problem the place has thrown at him. My guests have been impressed by his promptness and thoroughness. I’ve appreciated his patience in explaining options and recommendations.

Len Thonus promptly replied to our initial call, asked questions based on photos we sent of old water heater, clearly explained proposed service, then offered options for dates of service when we decided to go ahead. His co-worker Kevin, friendly and professional, arrived exactly on time, removed the old heater and installed the new one within 2-3 hours, checked that everything was working properly, cleaned up the work area nicely and reviewed everything with me.

Work was completed quickly, professionally, and very reasonably priced. They fixed pump on my boiler, flushed system, rerouted baseboard when I had a power outage due to a flood and I lost one leg of baseboard because of freezing pipes. Great job! They have since done additional work and it has been very satisfactory every time. They have even talked me out of service that they felt I didn’t need which saved me a lot of money. Very honest!

They were very responsive, prompt and professional, and nice. I think they may be a little pricier, but I’d rather get the job done right and pay only a little more. I’ve used his company twice. He replaced a faucet and fixed a part on my toilet. He also checked my furnace for me. Very little maintenance was needed. But at least I’m up to date now.

Len was wonderful. I called on a Sunday morning. He helped me stop the leak coming from water heater then came the next day and installed a new water heater.

Had a major repair done in my store. The cast iron drain pipe serving two apartments and the main store cracked after 80 years. Len and Matt arrived on time and started the job with laying down tarps to protect my floor. This was a messy job. They were in my store all day and finished the job in one day. This was a huge repair spanning three floors. They were professional, courteous and neat. The price was fair considering all they had done. Highly recommend this company! Matt and Stephen were very knowledgeable and professional. They went above and beyond their job. After installing the new dishwasher, Matt noticed that the 2 pipes below the sink were about to leak soon. That would be a disaster and disappointing. Matt put in 2 new hoses, and that was awesome! Our ac failed yesterday. We spent a night in a condo with the temp on thermostat reading 99 degrees. We literally had to keep putting our 2 dogs in the shower to cool them and us down through the night. Pretty scary ordeal, of course the emergency cooling centers do not allow pets. Called Len Thonus at 730am and they had a wonderful technician out to us before lunch. He diagnosed the problem and had it fixed in 10 min. This poor young man was drenched in sweat from a busy day working in extremely hot temperatures, but he remained the consummate professional. Can’t thank them enough.

Excellent expertise, proper identification of the problem and fast repair service. I had an issue with a hot air heating system. Initial repair by another service was to replace a motor ($700 down the drain). The second service changed switches and sensors for another $400 and the problem was still there. This other guy offered to replace the entire system for $3500 as he had no idea what was wrong. Len Thonus to the rescue! Manny was excellent in identifying the real problem (bad controller) and fixing it on the spot. Everything works and he saved me thousands of dollars. Thank you!

Very pleased with their service. We asked friends for recommendations, and these guys were at the top. Now I see why. I had a bad flame sensor on one of my furnaces, and within the hour all was replaced. The work was finished in the time quoted, and the cost was also as quoted.
